VS3 / FIND YOUR SETTING
VS3 grind adjustment chart.
Use these ranges to find a starting point, then adjust to the coffee and the cup. Read the setting from zero, counting complete collar rotations.
| Brew method | Grind setting |
|---|---|
| Espresso | 1–3 |
| Moka pot | 3–6 |
| Pour-over | 6–12 |
| French press | 12–15 |
| Cold brew | 15–18 |
A starting point for your coffee.
Treat these ranges as starting references. Coffee, roast, dose and brewing setup affect the setting you need. Upgrade burrs may require a different reference.
Do not grind at the zero point or within the manual’s 0–1 exclusion zone. Follow the user manual when checking zero or refitting burrs.

How to read this chart
- Cumulative volume
- The percentage of measured volume below a given particle size. Use this view to compare reports with different interval widths.
- Volume per interval
- The percentage of measured volume within each particle-size interval. The interval width affects the height shown.
- D10, D50 and D90
- The sizes below which 10%, 50% and 90% of the measured volume fall. D50 is the median by volume.
Compare speeds using the same burr and setting, or compare available burr reports at the same setting and speed. Dial settings are specific to each fitted burr set. The figures and table below describe the selected report.
These reports use different particle-size intervals, so comparison is shown as cumulative volume.
Percentages are by volume. Dial settings are specific to the fitted burrs. These laboratory measurements do not predict a particular flavour.
