Taste as you go
The coffee stays contained.
Pour a small taste through the spout while the closed basket holds the grounds.
STEEP
Prepare tonight. Pour tomorrow. A glass bottle and a closed filter basket make cold brewing a simple part of the day.

Borosilicate glass brings the whole routine into view.
MEASURE. ASSEMBLE. STEEP.
Coffee in the basket. Water through the spout. The rest is a matter of time.
The removable basket gives the coffee a defined place to infuse. Add your measured grounds, secure the basket to its cradle and spout, then fit the assembly to the glass bottle. Gently add water through the spout and close the lid.
A gentle inversion wets the grounds before the bottle goes into the refrigerator. The basket accommodates up to 60 g of coffee; the recipes below use less, with 700 mL of water. Keep a note of the dose and steeping time so the next batch starts from something you know.
TASTE AS YOU GO
A closed basket lets you taste the brew without letting the grounds pour out with it.
There is no need to lift the wet basket out each time you want to check the coffee. Pour a small taste through the spout while the grounds remain contained. Start within the 8–24 hour refrigerated steeping window, and let taste guide where you finish.
When the balance suits you, remove the basket and cradle to end the infusion. Refit the spout and lid. The same bottle is ready to serve, with fewer pieces to move between brewing and the table.
YOUR FIRST BATCH
Start with 700 mL of water. Choose a strength, give the coffee time in the refrigerator, then taste your way to the next batch.
| Strength | Coffee | Ratio |
|---|---|---|
| Light | 41.2 g | 1:17 |
| Balanced | 46.7 g | 1:15 |
| Strong | 53.8 g | 1:13 |
Rounded starting doses, expressed as coffee to water. The 750 mL figure is the bottle’s nominal volume; this recipe uses 700 mL of water. Finished yield is lower because the coffee absorbs some water.
Add ground coffee to the basket. Secure the upper cradle, connect it to the spout and fit the assembly into the glass bottle.
Gently pour 700 mL through the spout. Secure the lid and gently invert the bottle to wet all the coffee.
Refrigerate for 8–24 hours. The closed basket lets you pour a small taste while the grounds stay contained.
Remove the basket and cradle to end the infusion, then refit the spout and lid. Gently swirl or invert before serving.
Return the bottle to the refrigerator and enjoy within 2–3 days. Note the coffee, dose and steeping time before adjusting your next batch.
READY WHEN YOU ARE
Keep a batch in the refrigerator and bring it to the table when the moment arrives.
The clear borosilicate bottle makes the level easy to see. A compact 80 mm diameter and 297 mm height give you a simple reference when finding space in the refrigerator.
Gently swirl or invert before serving, then return the bottle to the cold. Enjoy the finished brew within 2–3 days. The next batch can follow the same recipe, or begin with one small change.
DESIGNED TO COME APART
The bottle, spout and filter assembly separate so the surfaces you use are within reach.
Remove the spent grounds, then separate the basket, cradle, spout and lid. Wash with mild dish detergent and a soft sponge, taking care not to press or scrub hard against the fine mesh. Rinse thoroughly and let the parts dry before reassembly.
The STEEP manual also permits dishwasher cleaning. Place the components securely and follow the dishwasher’s instructions. Inspect the silicone seals as you reassemble, so the next preparation begins with clean, correctly seated parts.
