3 included
Start with a choice.
Kurasu · Fast, Medium 1 and Slow 1 come with FLO. Compare different flow paths in the same dripper.
FLO
Change the outlet screen to fine-tune flow and cup character. Developed with Kurasu Kyoto, FLO includes three screens for different directions in the same coffee.

Double wall
An insulating stainless steel body brings the brewing chamber and interchangeable base together.
Varia × Kurasu
A collaboration between product design and pour-over brewing, with a Kurasu recipe to help you begin.
FLO / THE IDEA
Grind and pouring are familiar ways to adjust a pour-over. FLO adds a choice beneath the coffee bed: the outlet screen. Swap its geometry to change resistance, then compare drawdown and taste with a recipe you know.
Flow architecture
A removable base makes the flow path part of your recipe.
Separate the two-part assembly once it has cooled, exchange the screen and refit the gasket. Keep the coffee, grind, paper and pours consistent to compare the change.
Water also travels through the coffee bed and paper. Grind distribution, fines, pouring and filter choice influence resistance. A screen gives you another variable to work with; its name is not a guarantee of a fixed brew time or one flavour.
FLO SCREENS
Choose by the cup character you want to explore. Select a screen to see it fitted in FLO and compare its flavour profile. Three are included; four are sold separately.

Materials
Double-wall stainless steel surrounds the brewing chamber.
A compact 100 mm-diameter body stands 83 mm high, with a nominal 350 mL vessel volume. Place FLO on a stable server or cup and use compatible flat-bottom wave paper.
VARIA FLO PAPERS
Paper and screen both influence the route water takes through coffee.
Use the correct size of Varia FLO flat-bottom wave paper. FAST and SLOW paper options give you another variable to compare; keep one paper consistent while trying a different screen.
Varia × Kurasu Kyoto
Varia’s Ramsey Gyde and Kurasu’s Yozo Otsuki brought product design and pour-over experience together.
The shared idea was a dripper that could adapt to the coffee. FLO makes that choice physical: an interchangeable screen you can compare in your own brewing setup.
THE DAILY BREW
Begin with the included Medium 1 and the Kurasu recipe.
Learn the drawdown and taste with one familiar setup. Then change the screen, keep the rest of the recipe steady and decide which direction you prefer.
BREW WITH FLO
Begin with Medium 1 and Varia FLO paper. This recipe from Kurasu gives your first comparison a consistent starting point.
Fit a Varia FLO wave paper, rinse it and discard the rinse water. Add the ground coffee, level the bed and tare your scale.
Coffee-to-water ratio ≈ 1:15.4
| Time | Add | Scale total |
|---|---|---|
| 0:00 | 50 g | 50 g |
| 0:30 | 50 g | 100 g |
| 1:00 | 50 g | 150 g |
| 1:30 | 50 g | 200 g |
Each pour adds 50 g. Leave the scale running so the last pour reaches 200 g in total.
Use 2:10–2:30 as a starting drawdown window. The 200 g refers to water poured, not the weight of the finished drink.
For the next brew, keep the dose, water, temperature, screen and pouring pattern consistent. Adjust the grind to suit the coffee, then compare the result.
Suggested starting recipe, adapted from Kurasu’s FLO guide using Varia FLO paper. A different paper can change drawdown; adjust the grind to suit your coffee.
IN DETAIL
SPECIFICATIONS & CARE
Check the supplied parts, paper format and fitting guidance.
Double-wall stainless steel construction with silicone components. Diameter: 100 mm. Height: 83 mm. Nominal vessel volume: 350 mL.
Kurasu · Fast, Medium 1 and Slow 1 are included. Fast 1, Medium 2, Slow 2 and Slow 3 are optional screens sold separately.
Use compatible flat-bottom wave paper. Fit the paper neatly, rinse it and discard the rinse water before adding coffee. Place the dripper on a stable, suitably sized server or cup.
Allow the dripper to cool before separating its two-part assembly. Remove the screen, clean the accessible components and rinse away coffee residue. Seat the screen and silicone gasket correctly before reassembling. Follow the FLO care instructions.
